Winkie Guard Happy Meal Doll

It had been awhile since I ordered a McDonald’s Happy Meal, so it wasn’t until I opened one recently that I realized the “girl” toys being given away were little figurines based on one of my all-time favorite books: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz! They’re a Happy Meal-ized version of figurines from doll maker Madame Alexander.

They’ve all got these ridiculous baby faces and kinda creepy eyes, and are maybe too cute to handle. And of course, the dolls are all based on the characters as imagined in the 1939 film version of Oz, which meant this Winkie Guard I got in my Happy Meal is all dressed in blue (though everybody knows that Winkies really only wear yellow).

So, final verdict: Despite my preference for the versions of the characters from the novel… Um, I think I need to buy all of these.
